Le centre administratif communal de Inguiniel se situe dans la mairie de la commune. Nous pensons souvent et faussement que les maires sont nés de la grande et sanglante Révolution de 1789. Fausse croyance car il existait des maires bien avant cette révolution et nous en trouvons grand nombre sous l'Ancien Régime.Longtemps, les maires furent nommés par le Roi et c'est avec la république qu'ils furent élus à un suffrage qui ne fut pas toujours universel.
